Court restores Alpha’s school board seat

Catherine Alpha has been reinstated to the Greater Victoria school board, according to a story published at VicNews.com.
This will mean the speccial election scheduled for January 27 should be cancelled.

VLC endorses Malczewska for School Board

At the meeting of June 17, the Victoria Labour Council endorsed Tamara Malczewska for school board.  A special election will be held on June 27, 2009 to replace trustee Catherine Alpha, who was ousted as school trustee, wrongly in the council’s opinion.

First agreement reached for North Van District library workers

NORTH VANCOUVER DISTRICT—After a year of bargaining, approximately 135 library workers who are members of CUPE 389 have reached a settlement with the North Vancouver District Library on a first collective agreement.
